Prospects for cooperation with India's Ministry of AYUSH discussed

As part of his official visit to the Republic of India, Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry, held a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of AYUSH.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cultivating and deep-processing medicinal plants, manufacturing natural wellness and vitamin products, and implementing joint projects in these areas.

During the negotiations, the parties exchanged views on establishing research cooperation between the two countries, sharing expertise and knowledge, strengthening the sector's capacity by engaging leading Indian specialists in Uzbekistan, and enhancing professional training and capacity-building.

The parties also discussed opportunities to export medicinal plants cultivated in Uzbekistan, as well as products derived from them, to the Indian market, expressing mutual interest in developing practical cooperation in this area.

For reference: The Ministry of AYUSH is the Government of India's authorized body responsible for the development of traditional systems of medicine. It coordinates Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy. The Ministry also supports the cultivation and processing of medicinal plants, the production of natural wellness products, and the training of qualified professionals for the sector.
